Joel Fox is a retired Air Force officer having served 24 years on active duty, including a 15-month deployment with the US Army as an Embedded Training Team Member in Afghanistan. He currently works for Special Operations Command in Kentucky.
Joel started competitive pistol shooting with IDPA in 2002 and ventured into USPSA and outlaw 3-Gun competitions. In 2007, he was selected as a member of the five-man Air Force Action Pistol Team. Joel quickly established himself as a valued team member. In 2009, he was tasked to help lead the team in competing in action shooting’s fastest growing area: 3-Gun competition. After meeting John Paul at the 2009 Fort Benning 3-Gun, Joel quickly realized that to compete with the best in the sport, he had to invest in a better rifle. He quickly purchased a JP-15, which he still runs in the majority of his matches today. In 2011, Joel took charge of the action pistol team, leading them to dozens of top 10 finishes in national and international competitions over the next five years.
Now that he has retired, Joel has been able to focus on spending time with his family and catching up on some much needed range time. Joel primarily shoots Limited/Tac Irons and normally finishes in the top 5 overall in local matches and in the top 10 of his division at major matches. As a long-time fan and user of JP products, Joel is extremely proud to represent JP Enterprises as a member of the shooting team.
