Doug Johnson

Doug Johnson is a retired Army Field Artillery Lieutenant Colonel having served for 28 years through multiple deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He currently works for Northrop Grumman at Fort Hood, Texas.

Doug started competitive pistol shooting with USPSA in the late 90s and jumped on the 3-Gun bandwagon as soon as he discovered it. Thanks to an understanding and supportive wife, he has pursued his passion for 3-Gun for the past 10+ years, shooting literally hundreds of matches and making countless friends along the way.

Discovering JP Enterprises shortly after he started competing in 3-Gun, Doug quickly purchased a JP-15 rifle, which he still runs in the majority of his matches today. He also owns a CTR-02 with presentation finish ("special occasion" rifle) and an LRP-07, which he uses to compete in Heavy Metal / He-Man Division.

When not deployed or training for deployment, Doug shoots at least three local 3-Gun matches per month, normally finishing in the top 3 with his share of local match wins. He typically finishes in the top 20% or better at the Major / National level 3-Gun matches and is especially proud of the JP "Multi-Gun Expert" pins he earned at the 2011 and 2012 Rocky Mountain 3-Gun matches. As a long-time fan of JP products, Doug is proud to represent JP Enterprises as a member of the Shooting Team.
